Starting 04/18/26 through 5/8/2026 MORE 104.9 will conduct the “2026 Teacher of The Year” promotion and will allow listeners to nominate their favorite teacher on www.more1049.com for this award. The teacher chosen to be the “2026 Teacher of The Year” will receive a plaque, approximate retail value is $35; and a $250 gift card from Farmers Bank of Spencer.  The deadline for all nomination submissions is Friday, May 8th at 5pm. Submissions must be for individuals who are teachers/educators at a school/learning facility within the KMRR broadcast area.  Multiple submissions by one individual for the same teacher will be discarded.  However, listeners may nominate more than one teacher.  All nominations will be reviewed by a committee of staff members at Spencer Media Group. This committee will pick the person to receive the award and prize, based on their nomination and involvement with students and the school, etc.  The winner will be announced the week of May 18th.  In the event of a tie, the committee will conduct a re-vote of those candidates to determine a winner.  MORE 104.9 will also contact the individual(s) who nominated the winning recipient.  The approximate total value, based on sponsor is $285.  The winner is responsible for any local, state or federal taxes that may occur.  Prize(s) are not transferable or redeemable for cash.

All MORE 104.9 contests are open to all eligible listeners in the northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota coverage area 18 or older who have not won anything on any Spencer Media Group station in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of MORE 104.9, the Spencer Media Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the SMG main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
