Emmetsburg, IA (KICD) — For the thirteenth year – MORE 104.9 presented the 2023 Teacher of The Year Award on Friday.

This year’s recipient was Emmetsburg Middle School math teacher, Kelly Swanson. She tells KICD how honored she was to learn she was nominated by a co-worker:

This is Swanson’s 22nd year of teaching and still loves coming to school every day:

Mrs. Swanson received a plaque and $250 from Farmers Trust & Savings Bank in Spencer.

This year there were over 40 nominations for the Teacher of The Year award.
