Albert City Woman Dies From Injuries Sustained Crash Near Gillett Grove

An Albert City woman has died after being injured in a single vehicle crash in Clay County just before the Christmas holiday.

The Iowa State Patrol says 82-year-old Bonnie Falkena was northbound on County Road M-54 near Gillett Grove Thursday morning when her left the roadway ultimately going through the ditch and hitting a tree.

Falkena was taken to Spencer Hospital for treatment of her injuries and later transported to Sioux Falls where she died on Saturday.
