Algona, IA (KICD) — A new Superintendent for Algona schools has been announced.
The Algona school board has announced that Joe Carter has been offered the Superintendent position. His hire will be official after a formal background check and board approval. Carter is planned to officially begin on July 1st.
Carter is in his 20th year of serving the Emmetsburg Community School District as Director of Student Programs (4 years), Activities Director (7 years) and Elementary Principal (8 years).
Carter earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Wartburg College in American History Education in 1999. His Master’s Degree in Education Policy and Leadership Studies came from the University of Iowa in 2011. He is currently completing an education specialist degree from the university of Iowa.
