Estherville, IA (KICD)– The all clear has been given after multiple people were evacuated in Estherville following a reported gas leak on Tuesday morning.

KICD News spoke with Emmet County Emergency Manager Travis Sheridan this afternoon who told us the leak occurred when a construction crew struck a line with a shovel shortly before noon.

Sheridan’s office along with Estherville Police and Fire Departments responded to the leak and began evacuating nearby buildings as a precaution.

Crews quickly worked to subdue the leak and the all clear was given around 12:15.
