Council Bluffs, IA (KICD) — Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig announced high-path Avian Influenza has been confirmed in Iowa. State Veterinarian Jeff Kaisand says three backyard flocks are affected in the Council Bluffs area.

Kaisand says poultry growers should be on high alert, and preventing the disease is the only way to combat it.

The KICD Broadcast area is a major poultry and egg production area and was greatly impacted by High Path Avian Influenza in 2015.
