Everly, IA (KICD) — This is the first school year that Clay Central Everly and Spencer are exclusive sharing partners. When CCE became a K-six district last year, they entered THREE agreements – with Spencer, Hartley Melvin Sanborn, and Sioux Central – but found out later the state of Iowa only allows one partner school.
The school board determined to share with Spencer, since that’s where the bulk of high schoolers chose to attend.
Assistant Superintendent Jeff Scharn says transportation to and from Spencer is provided to those students daily.
CCE also took the step this year of adopting the Spencer school calendar, so classes and breaks line up.
School for both Spencer and Clay Central Everly began August 24th.
