Emmetsburg Fire Damages Offices

Emmetsburg, IA (KICD) — A fire caused by an malfunctioning electric wall heater damaged multiple city offices in Emmetsburg.

On Tuesday, Emmetsburg firefighters responded to the fire at the Brink Building, at 2103 Main Street. Upon arrival, fire had caused damage to several offices in the building, including the Iowa Department of Human Services office.

There was significant smoke damage to the rest of the building, which also is the location of the Palo Alto County Attorney’s Office and the Sanitarian and Zoning Offices. There were no injuries in the fire. Firefighters were on scene for nearly 3 hours.
