Omaha, NE (DTN)– The Dakota Access Pipeline will remain operational after a federal court reversed a ruling forcing it to be shut down pending further proceedings.
Wednesday’s ruling will temporarily alleviate transportation concerns raised by agriculture groups after the pipeline that begins in North Dakota and ends in Illinois was closed earlier this summer as a result of a permit issue dating back to the line’s construction in 2017.
During its journey, oil traveling through the Dakota Access Pipeline passes through portions of Buena Vista, Cherokee, Lyon, O’Brien and Sioux Counties.
