Clive, IA (KICD)– One of Iowa’s leading healthcare systems is being acquired by another system based out of Michigan.

The assets of Clive based Mercy One Health system will be taken over by Trinity Health which is one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic health care systems in the nation caring for communities across 25 states.

Trinity Health’s plan is to bring unified strategies and operations to MercyOne’s care sites including one set of system services when it acquires the share currently belonging to long time partner CommonSpirit Health.

MercyOne currently serves more than 3.3 million patients annually including at locations in Buena Vista, Kossuth, O’Brien and Palo Alto Counties and employs more than two thousand doctors and providers.

Trinity Health and CommonSpirit will now work to complete regulatory filings and other steps to finalize the transaction which is expected to be completed this summer.
