Des Moines, IA (KICD)– The Annals of Iowa, a journal from the state Historical Society, has named a Northwest Iowa native as its new editor.
Andrew Klumpp is originally from Sanborn and graduated from the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn School District before attending Northwestern College in Orange City to prepare him for further education.
Klumpp tells KICD News being the editor of the Annals of Iowa will give him the opportunity to see works and views from not only Iowans writing about their history with the state, but also people from around the world.
He says his main background is religious history, but being the editor of the scholarly journal will give him new insights into the full history of Iowa.
Klumpp says while he has spent some of life studying in North Carolina and more recently in Texas, his home has always been in Iowa, so getting the opportunity to move back to his home state and become editor of the Annals of Iowa is a dream come true.
Andrew Klumpp began his new role with Iowa Cultural Affairs last week taking over for the retiring Marv Bergman who has been editor of the Annals of Iowa since 1986.
More information about Klumpp and the Annals of Iowa can be found on the Iowa Cultural Affairs website.
