Des Moines, IA (KICD) — President Biden has declared nine counties in Northwest Iowa Disaster areas. The move now makes Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, and Sioux counties, available for Federal Emergency Management fund.

Residents may now apply for help under the FEMA Individual Assistance Program; and business owners might get help from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Governor Kim Reynolds was in Spencer yesterday, and said the state would be back to help residents through the process

Reynolds made three requests over the weekend. Iowa Homeland Security Chief John Benson said aerial surveillance technology allowed the state to document the disaster in hours instead of weeks.

Congressman Randy Feenstra joined the Governor on her tour of Northwest Iowa communities impacted by the recent floods.
