Remsen Man Seriously Injured in Crash Involving Semi

Marcus, IA (KICD)– A Remsen man was seriously injured in a crash involving a semi southwest of Marcus Wednesday afternoon.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office was called to the intersection of C Avenue and Highway 3 around 4:30 where units learned a pickup driven by 73-year-old Rapheal Marx had slowed down for a turning vehicle while eastbound when he was rear-ended by a semi whose driver was reportedly distracted by a combine in a nearby field.

Marx was taken to a local hospital with incapacitating injuries. The semi driver, 21-year-old Dreysen Lindgren of Kingsley was not injured.
