Spencer, IA (KICD) — The Spencer Hospital is introducing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to its services, which will allow additional treatment options for those who are suffering from chronic wounds. Jordan Achterhoff, the Director of the Hospital’s Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine chamber, says chronic wounds affected nearly 6.7 million people in the United States.
Achterhoff says there are quite a few benefits from receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy, including reduced swelling and discomfort.
She says Spencer Hospital has two Hyperbaric Chambers, and the services will provide for a growing need not only in Spencer but the entire country.
