Spencer JCPenney Remaining Open As Store Closures Are Announced

Spencer, IA (KICD)– JCPenney announced Thursday it will be closing a number of stores just weeks after the company filed for bankruptcy protection.

The list of 154 stores does not include the location Spencer’s Southpark Mall, but does include the stores in Carroll and Marshalltown.

This move will take the number of JCPenney stores down to nine in Iowa with Spencer being the smallest city in the state still hosting the retail chain that is more than a century old.
