Spencer Man Arrested After Allegedly Attempting to Burglarize Local Business

Spencer, IA (KICD)– A Spencer man has been charged after being caught last week allegedly attempting to burglarize a local business.

The Clay County Communications Center was contacted early Wednesday morning that the night guard at Shine Brothers caught and detained 46-year-old Christopher Mortimore after he reportedly entered the building on 10th Avenue Southeast attempting to commit a theft.

Further investigation by the Spencer Police Department led to Mortimore being charged with third degree burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.
