Spencer, IA (KICD)– Many activities may have come to an end early because of pandemic, but that did not stop several Spencer High School students from being recognized by the state for their contributions to the theater program.

Drama Director Katie Kardell tells us Spencer students are walking away with a number of honors after being eligible for some awards they have not qualified for in the past.

Kardell says the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards have been moved to a digital tribute to make sure all students, especially the outgoing seniors, get honored for their hard work and dedication.

Among the individuals recognized are Rhyan Busch, Natalie Kroll, Kyle Goeken and Serenity Kollasch for their rolls and contributions to “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”.

The full digital showcase for the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards is available on the Des Moines Performing Arts website.
