Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– What started as a weekend traffic stop led to two Buena Vista County residents being arrested on drug related charges.
The Storm Lake Police Department initiated the stop in the 1000 block of East Lakeshore Drive shortly before 4:30 Saturday morning for a traffic violation.
During the stop a K9 officer was deployed on the vehicle and identified the possible presence of controlled substances. A search of the vehicle is said to revealed more than 20 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
As a result, 28-year-old Eddie Hood of Sioux Rapids and 22-year-old Samantha Miller of Newell were taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both parties were booked into the Buena Vista County Jail with Hood being held on $5300 bond and Miller on $1300.
