Tuesday Spencer Flood Update

Spencer, Ia (KICD) — Spencer Mayor Steve Bomgaars and Public Works Director Mark White are scheduled to be in the studio with us every morning now at 10:30am to relay official information about flood recovery.

Yesterday, White made the welcomed announcement.

There is also a plan now for the disposal of debris that complies with FEMA regulations. That story is already posted on our website, and you can hear it during our noon report here on the radio.

Up until the water has been potable all over town, but low pressure is creating the possibility of bacteria entering the system South of the River and North of Highway 18. Yesterday afternoon the mayor announced relief for those residents who are now living without air-conditioning OR drinking water.

Our next regular update from the city of Spencer is scheduled for 10:30 this morning on all of our Spencer Radio Group stations.
