Spencer, IA (KICD) — Spencer Police Chief Mark Warburton says the switcher at the fire department that allows tornado sirens around Clay County to be activated is still out. The protocol now would be to contact those individual towns to turn on the sirens if necessary. Warburton says nearly all communities are connected by pager. He hopes the activation system is repaired within a couple of days.
And Spencer Municipal Utilities CEO Steve Pick says he believes all services – water, electricity, and communications – could be returned to virtually the entire town by the end of the week.
