Graettinger, IA (KICD)– Upper Des Moines Opportunity has been awarded more than one million dollars to help expand its housing program.

Housing Director Tanya Thelen says the money will be allocated mostly for rental assistance with Clay County being one of two primary focus points.

Thelen says by growing their staff working on housing issues, UDMO will be able to respond to local needs in a more timely fashion.

Of course, the UDMO programs have to flexible since situations tend to play out differently from one client to the next.

Those in need of housing assistance can contact the State of Iowa Crisis line at 1-833-739-0065 or find additional information on the Upper Des Moines Opportunity website.
