West Bend, IA (KICD) — There’s a new shared Superintendent in the West Bend Mallard and Gilmore City – Bradgate school districts. Paul Peppmeier jokes that he’s already done most jobs there.

West Bend Mallard is a K-12 district. Gilmore City Bradgate has a K-6 building, and sends its 7th through 12th graders to West Bend.
Peppmeier feels both districts are committed to remaining independent, while still meeting the current and future needs to students.

Amanda Schmidt retired as Superintendent last year. Retired administrator Bob Olson served as interim superintendent for the 2023-24 school year.
