Northwest Iowa Community College Sees Record Fall Enrollment

Sheldon, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Northwest Iowa Community College based in Sheldon, Iowa is celebrating a record-breaking semester. NCC President John Hartog is thrilled to share the news with KICD News.

This year’s enrollment is a 5.35 % jump from last fall’s numbers. The college’s student success rate is 62.2% , which is well above the Iowa state average of 55.2% and the national community college average of 59.3% The college’s graduation rate is also higher than both state and national rates.

President Hartog is optimistic about the future at NCC.

 

NCC’s national reputation shows in their recent honors. The Aspen Institute recognized NCC as a Top 20 College for the 2025 Aspen Prize. Additionally, the Carnegie Foundation honored the college for its impact, access, and student success.
