Sanborn, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — If you like to gamble, Amy Solsma’s advice is to skip Vegas, and try farming. Solma and her husband Jay farm near Sanborn and have been running Solsma’s Punkin Patch for 26 years now. How’s the pumpkin growing season been this year?

Solsma says a wide selection is important to her customers, so variety is the key to planting.

As for the leftover crop of pumpkins?

Hundreds of elementary students visit the farm each fall from schools across Northwest Iowa.. Solsma’s is open every day through Halloween, and includes acres of fall produce, a corn maze, a retail store with local vendors, and food trucks regularly. Find them on Highway 18 east of Sanborn, and www.solsma.com for more information.
