Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Soccer team fell a game short of the State Tournament in 2024 when they lost on the road to top ranked North Polk in the Regional final.
The Tigers not only look to avoid that situation again by dodging the bumps in the road of last season’s schedule but also look to make it to the State Tournament and advance.
That is Lauren Horst. The Tigers graduated a few key pieces from last year’s team but have received an influx of talented freshman this season and return Iowa’s top goal scorer and Drake commit Addison Hoben.
Lily Gross sees that confidence growing already in the freshman class and the top returning defender for the Tigers says developing defensive skills will be key for them.
Spencer opens up the regular season on Monday against Northwest Iowa Soccer League foe MOC-Floyd Valley.
