A Couple of KICD 9-County Area Teams Top the Pocahontas Girls Invite

Pocahontas, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Pocahontas Area held their Girls Invite on Tuesday.

In the Class A High Jump, Macy Walters of Emmetsburg won with a height of 4’10”.  Pocahontas Area’s Isabelle Shearer took 2nd at 4’8”, beating out 3rd place Hanna Weier of Sioux Central in the tiebreaker.

For the Class A Discuss, Emmetsburg’s Lily Straw took 3rd at 85’1”.

Halle Hauswirth of Pocahontas Area won the Class A Shot Put at 37’8.5”.  Sioux Central’s Madison Wittmaack took 3rd at 31’9”.

In the Class B High Jump, Amarie Olsen and Keisha Nielsen of Alta/Aurelia tied with Grace Schumacher of South Central Calhoun at 4’8”.  Olsen took 1st out of the tiebreaker with Nielsen 2nd and Schumacher 3rd.

For the Class B Long Jump, Ellie Bloom of Alta/Aurelia took 2nd at 15’9.5”.

Harper Koth of Alta/Aurelia was 2nd at 82’8” on her Discuss throw in Class B.  MMCRU’s Samantha Peterson was 3rd at 81’3”.

Peterson came back for the Class B Shot Put with a mark of 32’11.75” to take 2nd.

In the Class B 800m Sprint Medley Relay, Alta/Aurelia’s team of Langschwager, Gunkelman, Meyer, and Peterson combined for a time of 2:04.83 to take 2nd.  MMCRU’s team of Groves, Busch, Draper, and Regennitter was 3rd at 2:08.31.

For the Class A Sprint Medley Relay, Sioux Central’s Waldstein, Johnson, Ayers, and Wilson ran 1:57.1 to take 1st with Pocahontas Area’s Sobotka, Hauswirth, Mefferd, and Sommerlot clocking 1:57.87 to take 2nd.

Alta/Aurelia’s Macy Droegmiller took 2nd in the Class B 3000m Run with a time of 12:17.77.

In the Class A 3000m Run, Sawyer Storms of Pocahontas Area was 3rd at 13:40.51.

For the Class B 4x800m Relay, Alta/Aurelia took 1st with a time of 11:02.57 with a team of Berkland, Anderson, Langschwager, and Aberson.

Sioux Central’s team of Weber, Madsen, Christian, and Bloom won with a time of 10:21.4 in the Class A 4x800m Relay.

In the Class B 100m Dash, ellie Bloom of Alta/Aurelia won at 13.53 seconds with Lilly Olson of MMCRU in 3rd at 14.04.

For the Class A 100m Dash, Lillian Johnson of Sioux Central was the winner with a time of 13.21.  Pochahontas Area’s Danica Dreith was 2nd at 13.58.

The Girls 1600m Distance Medley Relay in Class B was won by Alta/Aurelia’s team of Binder, Berkland, Olsen, and Peterson with a time of 5:02.54.

In the Class A 1600m Distance Medley Relay, Sioux Central’s Joenks, Wittmaack, Weber, and Christian was 2nd with a time of 4:44.42.

For the Class B 400m Dash, Bree Anderson of Alta/Aurelia took 3rd at 1:08.54.

Karina Bloom of Sioux Central ran 1:05.37 in the Class A 400m Dash to take 1st with Lily Swift of Emmetsburg in 3rd at 1:07.62.

In the Class B 4x200m Relay, MMCRU’s Busch, Olson, Draper, and Regennitter took 2nd at 1:58.82.

For the Class A 4x200m Relay, Pocahontas Area’s Sobotka, Hauswirth, Sommerlot, and Mefferd combined for a time of 1:53.27 to take 1st with Sioux Central’s Waldstein, Cavanough, Ayers, and Wilson in 2nd at 1:53.56.

Riley Groves of MMCRU took 2nd at 18.18 seconds in the Class B 100m Hurdles.  Alta/Aurelia’s Abbygail Wunschel was 3rd at 18.4 seconds.

In the Class A 100m Hurdles, Danica Dreith of Pocahontas Area won with a time of 16.63 seconds.  Hanna Weier of Sioux Central was 2nd with a time of 18.11, and Emmetsburg’s Elizabeth Thoren was 3rd with a time of 18.12.

For the Class B 800m Run, Macy Droegmiller of Alta/Aurelia won with a time of 2:39.19.

Rachel Schany of Emmetsburg took 1st in the Class A 800m Run, clocking 2:21.25 with Sioux Central’s Karina Bloom in 3rd at 2:43.06.

In the Class B 200m Dash, Ellie Bloom of Alta/Aurelia was 2nd at 28.28 with Lilly Olson of MMCRU in 3rd at 28.81.

For the Class A 200m Dash, Khloe Mefferd of Pocahontas Area was the winner with a time of 27.32, Sioux Central’s Peyton Waldstein was 2nd at 28.02, and Bella Joenks was 3rd at 29.19.

Amarie Olsen of Alta/Aurelia was 3rd in the Class B400m Hurdles with a time of 1:15.39.

In the Class A 400m Hurdles, Marley Madsen of Sioux Central won with a time of 1:12.22 and Macy Walters of Emmetsburg was 2nd at 1:14.06.

For the Class B 1500m Run, Hayden Berkland of Alta/Aurelia was 2nd with a time of 5:19.06.  Annika Juhl of MMCRU was 3rd at 5:58.95.

Sage Weber of Sioux Central won the Class A 1500m Run with a time of 5:10.74.

In the Class B 4x100m Relay, Alta/Aurelia’s team of Langschwager, Gunkelman, Stites, and Bloom won with a time of 54.95 and MMCRU was 2nd at 55.34 with a team of Groves, Draper, Busch, and Olson.

For the Class A 4x100m Relay, Pocahontas Area’s team of Dreith, Hauswirth, Sommerlot, and Mefford won with a time of 51.59 seconds, followed by Sioux Central’s team of Waldstein, Ayers, Wilson, and Johnson clocking 52.51 in 2nd.

Sioux Central’s team of Bloom, Christian, Madsen, and Wilson won the Class A 4x400m Relay with a time of 4:25.05.
