Heading to the Winter Games this weekend? Do NOT trust the ice right now, according to the The Arnolds Park / Okoboji Fire and Rescue Department.

The critical warning was posted on the Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire Facebook page Wednesday, and says crews are reporting highly unstable ice conditions, especially on West Lake and near the bridges. Just because it’s safe to walk in one spot does not mean it can hold a vehicle a few feet away.

The Fire Department is urging attendees to not drive on the ice, use the buddy system, and cover up exposed skin.
