Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) The inaugural Iowa Music Day at the Clay County Fair was a hit, setting the stage for a long-lasting partnership between the fair and the Iowa Rock ‘n’ Roll Music Association and Hall of Fame. Mindy Spinks, Operations Manager for the association, highlighted the event’s success in connecting with local youth and promoting music education.

The event also served to inspire new artists, with last year’s Iowa Rocks Talent contest winners, Des Moines-based Procedure” performed on the Northwest Bank stage Thursday night.   Additionally, the event promoted the Hall of Fame’s mission to honor musicians and others who have contributed to Iowa’s music scene. Spinks says they look forward to year two of Iowa Music Day and invite everyone to visit the Hall of Fame Museum in Arnolds Park.
