Clay County Jail Staff Assaulted By Inmate

Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Clay County Jail staff were assaulted by an inmate on February 7th around 10:50 pm. Clay County Deputies were called to assist, and that is when James Streuli assaulted a correctional officer and a Clay County Deputy.

Streuli is charged with two counts of assault on a peace officer/correctional officer, both serious misdemeanors. He is being held in jail until his court appearance.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department and Clay County Conservation.
