Spirit Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Atlantic, Iowa – which distributes the world’s best-selling soft drink to 11 hundred businesses in Northwest Iowa – has nearly completed its new facility in Spirit Lake’s East industrial park on 255th Avenue.
The current facility located between the highway and Lake Street in Spirit Lake was constructed in 1948. General Manager Jeff Heinrichs says all 36 local employees will be transitioning to the new, modern, efficient facility in November and December. The move will also eliminate traffic congestion caused by the semis that block Lake Street while they back up to loading dock at the current location.
Heinrichs says the company is having conversations with parties interested in both buying or leasing the old building. The Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company acquired the Lakes service territory ten years ago.
The new distribution facility is the third building in the East Industrial Park following Fed-Ex and the Dickinson County Road Department.
