ESTHERVILLE, IA (Northwestiowanow) — The City of Estherville has approved the acquisition of land through a donation from the Estherville Area Growth Partnership.

During Monday night’s regular city council meeting on June 15th, the council formally considered acceptance of the donation.

City Administrator Penny Clayton says the parcel consists largely of open ground along the river corridor.

Clayton notes the property is now no longer suitable for development.

Despite those limitations, the city sees value in the land as part of a broader, long-term plan, potentially allowing for future trail expansion along the river.
