Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Extreme cold blasts into the KICD listening area tonight and through the weekend, with wind chill values near 36 degress overnight.

Homeowners in Spencer will want to protect their water pipes from freezing, to prevent costly plumbing emergencies.

If you suspect a frozen pipes, turn off main water to the house and call a plumber. Keep the faucets in the home open until they arrive. You can also call SMU with any questions or concerns.
