High Speed Chase Through Three Counties Nabs One

Emmetsburg, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Six law enforcement agencies were involved in a high-speed chase through three counties Wednesday night. A Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Deputy clocked 52-year-old Steven Himes of Ottosen driving 84 miles-per-hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone at the Emmet County border around 8:30pm.

After leading authorities through all of Palo Alto and Pocahontas Counties he was stopped near home in Humboldt County. He was charged with 14 traffic violations and one count of interferenece with official acts causing bodily injury.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by sheriff’s offices from Pocahontas, Humboldt, and Kossuth Counties; and police departments from Emmetsburg and Pocahontas.
