Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Spirit Lake fire department has been called to the scene of a house fire three times since the initial call at 5:30 Sunday night. Chief Pat Daly says the structure at 10185 237th Avenue on Little Spirit Lake was totally engulfed when they arrived.

Daly says a woman was watching television in one end of the house when a motorist stopped to inform her the other end was on fire.

The crew was called back overnight and again this morning when the fire rekindled. The state fire marshal has been called to investigate. The Dickinson County Assessor’s website lists the owner as Avis Davis.
