ESTHERVILLE, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The Estherville City Council has approved two major street projects.
City Administrator Penny Clayton says a resurfacing and shoulder expansion on South 1st Street should get underway soon.
In addition to road resurfacing, the council also approved the purchase of automated street painting equipment.
Clayton says the robot should save $8,000 a year in labor and pay for itself in 2.6 years.
The new equipment will also be shared with Estherville Lincoln Central Schools (ELC), which will have an additional unit strictly for athletic field usage. In return, the city will assist with the painting of parking lots at ELC facilities.
