Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — The Spencer Public Library is remembering Dewey the Cat twenty years after his death. Retired Library director turned Author Vicki Myron has put together a collection of Dewey paraphernalia that will be on display all month, and she’ll be visiting the library on three occasions starting tonight.

Fans have never stopped visiting the library, nor have they stopped writing Myron.

KICD News asked Myron if she has any idea why the book she wrote means so much to so many.

The cat – later named Dewey – was left in the book deposit box at Spencer Public library in 1988 and lived there until November of 2006. The book came out and was a world-wide best seller in 2008.
