Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Swim team hosted Algona and Sioux City Metro Tuesday night for a pair of duals.

Spencer’s 200y Medley really team of Gretchen Haak, Jade Henson, Aubrey McFarland, and Maisy Schmidt combined for a 1st place time of 2:08.23.

Halle Sears won the 200y Individual Medley for Spencer with a time of 2:12.7.

Sears would also pick up the win in the 100y Butterfly with a time of 59.19 seconds, just edging out Natalie Patee of Sioux City Metro by a little over a half second.

Sears hasn’t swam the times she was hoping to at this point in the season, but feels like she is getting close to breaking through

Sioux City Metro beat Spencer 58-36. The Tigers got the win against Algona 73-20, and Metro also beat Algona 69-24.

Aubrey McFarland appreciated the competition the two teams provided.

The State Qualifying meet is around a month away. Maisy Schmidt mentioned some of her season goals and how she’ll achieve them.

Both Sioux City Metro and Spencer will attend the LC Invite, hosted by Lewis Central of Council Bluffs on Saturday.
