Spencer’s Hopkins Inks With Dutch

Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Spencer Senior Sydnee Hopkins is moving on to the next level to play College Basketball at Central in Pella. Hopkins inked her Letter of Intent on Friday morning with family, teammates, and coaches present at the Spencer Fieldhouse.

Hopkins really enjoyed her experience at a camp in Pella.

Hopkins says that she will get a great start to her post-prep academic career at Central.

The Tiger senior was a driving force for Spencer in their best season since the 2022-23 season. Girls Head Basketball Coach Matt Stevenson talked about her growth as a player with Spencer.

Hopkins, an athlete that excels in multiple sports, got a lot of reps in over the course of her high school career, with the Spencer program, different camps, and in the AAU circuit, where she says she realized that basketball was something she wanted to do post-high school.

Coach Stevenson looks forward to seeing her basketball playing days extend into the college level.

Hopkins looks back fondly on the resilience of her team the last 4 years.
