Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Basketball teams played host to West of Sioux City on Senior night.

The Tiger Girls handled the Wolverines from the tip.  Spencer outscored West 28-11 in the 1st quarter and 18-2 in the 2nd quarter to take a 46-13 lead into the half.

The lead grew to 42 at the end of the 3rd quarter for Spencer.

The Tigers would score a season high 74 points on the night on their way to their second-largest margin of victory on the year in the 74-26 win.

Calista Frankenstein put together her 2nd straight 20 point evening, scoring 21 to lead the Tigers.  Maddy McWhirter was also in double figures with 11, part of a group of four seniors who combined for 24 on Senior night.  Spencer improves to 11-9 on the season and have sealed up their first winning record since the 2022-23 season.

The Boys contest brought great offensive basketball to the Fieldhouse on Thursday night.  The scoring pace was ridiculous in the 1st quarter, with West leading Spencer 31-28 going in to the 2nd.

The Tigers outscored the Wolverines in the 2nd and 3rd quarters by a combined 34-30 and had their lead up to 7 multiple times.  Spencer led 62-61 going into the final 8 minutes.
