Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) — Monday was Veteran’s Day at the Clay County Fair.  Sgt First Class Thomas Kohn gave a moving talk at the Veterans Day program inside the Event Center ballroom. His message included the 250 year history of the Army, and the many turning points in history made possible by servicemen and women.

The ballroom was packed, with more spectators filling the hall outside the room. Some fought back tears listening to the message, and Kohn says he hopes today helps remind us of the heroic sacrifices made by our armed services.

Kohn is currently the Cherokee County Veterans Affairs office and is the new president of the Cherokee VFW chapter.
