DICKINSON COUNTY, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The identity of the victim of a fatal boating collision on West Lake Okoboji Sunday has been released.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has identified the victim as 64-year-old Zhong Jie Teng of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

According to authorities, Teng was aboard a 19-foot Triton fishing boat near Lime Kiln Point along with five minors when the vessel collided with a Cobalt cabin cruiser operated by 49-year-old Brian Rohlfsen of Spirit Lake at approximately 1 p.m. on August 2.

Teng was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, where he was later pronounced dead.

The conditions of the five minors who were aboard the fishing boat have not been released.

Officials say no injuries were reported among the occupants of the cabin cruiser, and investigators have ruled out alcohol as a factor in the collision.

The incident remains under investigation.
