Ruthven, IA (KICD)– A Spencer woman was taken to the hospital after a vehicle she was driving hit a Ruthven business Sunday afternoon.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Lakeland EZ Stop around 1:30 where responding units learned the vehicle driven by Jeanette Lappegard had been stopped near the gas pumps of the business when it began to move, striking the front doors and ending up inside.

Authorities have not said whether Lappegard was injured in the impact, but note she was transported from the scene for treatment of an undisclosed medical issue.

The extent of the damage to the business has not been released.
