Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– Firefighters were called to Meridian Manufacturing in Storm Lake on Sunday evening for a semi-tractor on fire.

When crews arrived just before midnight they found the semi-tractor fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters spent about an hour extinguishing the flames, but were unable to save the truck which is considered a total loss.

While the exact cause is undetermined, the fire is believed to have started in the driver’s compartment after the truck was started and left running for approximately 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported.
